Digismiles Portrait Day at Super Friday, October 4, 2024

Super Friday is once again offering our homeschool community the opportunity to have “school” portraits taken by Digismiles Photography. You can order from either print or digital packages (or both) AND the Lighthouse yearbook will automatically receive portraits of those students who made an order. (Photos will NOT be taken if a package isn’t ordered.)

TO ORDER A PACKAGE, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE FORM HERE https://forms.gle/LdKMGhZaxXcawPoQ7 BY 11:59PM WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2.

Payment can be made online using the QR codes below or bring cash or check payment on picture day (by 9:00am), labeled with name of children being photographed. Students will only be photographed if payment is received by 9:00am on picture day.

If you have questions, email dawnpruyn@homerunministries.com.

Let’s support our Super Friday families!

We have an opportunity to support and encourage two of our Super Friday families during this fall season. Please see below and help if you are able!

Long time members of our Super Friday community, the Sanchez family finds themselves in extraordinary circumstances due to Hurrican Beryl. The KHOU news piece attached further explains their situation. While Beryl is in the rear-view mirro for most of us, they are still in a tenuous living situation and struggling in many aspects of life right now. If you would like to help them during this difficulty, you can! Gift cards are being collected by Stacy Audirsch for their family. You can bring a gift card of any amount to the HEART meeting on 9/16, to Super Friday (a basket will be at the front desk) or mail to Stacy Audirsch. We will be collecting through the month of September. Contact Stacy Audirsch at 281-714-0701 with any questions.

Chris Chicago is a Super Friday dad (Callie, Finn and Lochlan’s father) who is battling cancer. Chris has been hospitalized recently as he fights infection and cancer. If you’d like to help provide meals for the Chicago family during this time, you can find their meal train and more info here. https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/k3nz5d

Week 3- Important Notes for Parents!

We are returning to Super Friday this week after our break for Labor Day weekend, and I want to share some helpful information regarding pickup line.

While pickup went quicker on week 2, it is still taking quite a while to get everyone out to their cars. We have made more changes and improvements to our process so this week should be even better.

Parents can do their part by:

  1. Making carpool arrangements ahead of time! Please plan any carpools and let me (Dawn Pruyn 225-324-7758) know by noon on Thursday,. We cannot move students from one line to the other, so carpools may mean that a driver will need to get in two lines. If this applies to you, pick up in MDO line first, then the big kids line. Also, discuss with your child who will be picking them up, little ones get upset when these changes are made without their knowledge. Of course, we can make exceptions for emergencies, just call or text Dawn.
  2. If you are carpooling with another family EVERY WEEK, we can combine your families into one line and one Carline # for efficiency. Contact Dawn asap if this is your plan.
  3. DO NOT text your children from your car telling them to come out. We are requiring students to follow our system for their SAFETY, and that means students are brought out in small groups at our direction (3 cars at a time). If your child is not responding, we will ask you to pull into a designated spot to wait so the rest of the line continues to move.
  4. We will continue to use pre-printed name tags with students end of day area and Carline # until we get things moving smoothly. You can help by reminding your child to listen for their LAST name, and review that info with them if needed (especially for our early elementary students).
  5. Please continue to bring your patience and be kind with our staff, adults and teens, who are sweating and hustling!

Happy September and see you Friday!

New Attendance and Check-in Program at Super Friday

Dear Families,

At Super Fridays, nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of your children.  That’s why we’ve chosen KidCheck as our children’s check-in solution to bring you the best check-in experience and to allow us to partner with you to keep your children safe.

We will go live with KidCheck on August 16, 2024. This program will not require you to check your child in, it will be the system that our staff uses to check adults, teens and children in each Friday.  This program will help us to know who is on campus at all times so that we can keep everyone safe.

As we are setting up our system and rosters, you will receive an email letting you know that you are in our program. No action is required on your part, but if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you for being a part of Home Run Ministries and Super Friday!

In His Grace,

Dawn Pruyn

Registration Do-Over!

Dear parents,

First, let me thank you for your patience and grace.  We sincerely apologize for the difficulties with Super Friday registration.  We believe we have uncovered the source of the problem.  Despite numerous rounds of testing and successfully registering staff last week, the program did not fully load all options when registration opened this morning and not all registrations were completed or recorded correctly.  When this issue was discovered and corrected, many computers would not display the corrections due to browser cookies.

In order to ensure a fair opportunity for all families, we will be deleting all current family registrations (not staff) and re-opening registration tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18th at 8AM. If you paid registration fees today, they will show as a credit and will apply toward registration tomorrow.

Staff family registrations are not affected and will not need to reregister.

To successfully register tomorrow, you will need to follow the steps below:

  • Note your login information for http://www.homerunministries.com
  • Completely log out of your HRM account
  • Clear your cookies and cache or consider using a different browser
  • Log back in  tomorrow morning at 8:00am.

As a reminder: if you attempt to log-in before 8AM, the program will not be completely loaded, and all classes may not be visible.  If this happens, you will need to log out, clear your cookies and cache, and log back in.

Again, we thank you for your patience and prayers, and look forward to a smoother morning tomorrow!

Dawn Pruyn
